Bio
I previously described myself as "a fulltime layabout with aspirations towards cartooning"; nowadays I have a lowly tertiary sector job, aspirations in tact. I hail from the concrete paradise of Telford, and have now moved back to lovely Cheltenham in a futile attempt to relive my freewheeling student days.

When I'm not drawing a 'gag' or planning a comic strip I might never complete, I amass books (literary fiction, comics, poetry, historical biographies, popular science - little bits of anything...) which I sometimes read, pluck at guitar and occasionally dabble in videogaming. I have an affection for largely unnoticed artforms, such as emblem books and remediations of the novel (e.g. hypertext, multimodal/imagetext and visual novels). I have maintained an unswerving Pythagorean diet since the Lenten period of 2005, and will sometimes make reluctant contact with other human beings.

I have multiple personalities, including: a fiercely conservative etymologist who grew up in the Home Counties; a bespectacled lesbian who works in a university library and dreams of the ancient world; a sixteen-year-old loner working on a long novel-in-progress called 'My Family and Other Fascist Regimes'; and a folklorist who has long since lost touch with his friends and reality. I don't hear much from them because they all keep their thoughts to themselves and value their privacy.

Among other things, I play bass, shout & co-write songs as part of post-punk revival band Decadence in Berlin. Occasionally, I record songs for my half-hearted solo project, Pygmy King, which I will eventually develop into a touring act with a backing band, my Cheap Novelty Orchestra.

If you want to go on an adventure, or have a case of amateur detective work that needs attending to, count me in.
